Education Courses and Teaching Degrees at Brookhaven

Taking education classes at Brookhaven College is an affordable way to get started on a path to a brighter future. Whether you’re taking classes to transfer to a four-year college or university, or for personal enrichment, our curriculum will give you the foundational skills you need.

Child Development/Early Childhood Education

Brookhaven College's Child Development/Early Childhood Education Department is home to the Child Development/Early Childhood program, teacher education and the Learning Framework (EDUC 1300) course. We are also proud to have a partnership with Head Start of Greater Dallas and host an on-site facility where students are able to complete observations and coursework. Visit the Head Start Center at Brookhaven College.
The foundational knowledge and skills acquired in each course are critical to becoming a true master of the art and science of teaching and learning. Students will excel with the help from experienced faculty who have a wide breadth of knowledge in the field and focus on YOU as the learner.
If you're unsure of which path to take in our Child Development/Early Childhood program, view our advising guide for more information.

The CDEC program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children's (NAEYC) Early Childhood Higher Education Programs. View the outcome report describing student success data.
