Taking ESOL classes at Brookhaven College is an affordable way to get started on a path to a brighter future. Whether you’re taking classes to transfer to a four-year college or university, or for personal enrichment, our curriculum will give you the foundational skills you need.

English for Speakers of Other Languages

To non-native speakers of English, we offer three ESOL programs. 

•    The Intensive English Program (IEP), designed to help international (F1 Visa) students to improve their English, often in preparation for college-level study 

•    The Credit ESOL Program, designed to help non-native-English-speaking U.S. citizens or permanent residents to improve their English, often in preparation for college-level study 

•    The Noncredit ESOL Program, designed to help non-native-English-speaking U.S. citizens or permanent residents to acquire basic-to-intermediate English-language skills in preparation for the workplace or the Credit ESOL Program.
