Spring 2020 classes have resumed online.
Please visit dcccd.edu/coronavirus for additional information and to learn how to prepare for online classes.

Coursework Completed INSIDE the DCCCD

  • If the prerequisite and/or support coursework was taken within the Dallas County Community College District we do not require course descriptions of those courses. If the course is not the same course in the curriculum pattern, a course substitution must be requested.
  • If you are requesting to substitute a course that was taken within the DCCCD, this request must be done through the nursing office at Brookhaven College. Course substitutions MUST be approved PRIOR to applying to the Nursing Program. See deadline on the Admission Schedule and Deadlines page. Course descriptions must be submitted including required prerequisites and support coursework. Please provide photocopies of online or print catalog pages of course descriptions from the college’s catalog. Please do not highlight or mark the pages provided.

Note: When repeating a course for a better grade, the Grade Point Average (GPA) will only be calculated on the last same course number attempted.

Coursework Completed OUTSIDE of DCCCD

  • Coursework from transfer nursing students requesting admission will be evaluated individually. Submit official transcripts and proof of accreditation from EVERY undergraduate college attended outside of the Dallas County Community College District to:
  • Brookhaven College
    Attention: Admissions Office
    3939 Valley View Lane
    Farmers Branch, TX 75244-4997

  • All official transcripts from all colleges attended must be submitted PRIOR to applying to the Nursing Program (see deadline on the Admission Schedule and Deadlines page).

  • For your nursing application, we will accept a stamped “copy” of official transcripts that you have on file at Brookhaven College. Please go the Admissions Office at that campus and request the copy.
