Our mission: The Sociology Department nurtures civic-minded and socially responsible citizens through an interactive program of academic courses rooted in understanding social behavior and structures. Employing a global perspective, our program aims to assist students and future leaders develop a set of culturally responsive tools needed to address complex issues of social equity —including, but not limited to — race, class and gender.

Explore the many facets of society with a sociology class. Courses cover a wide variety of social considerations including marriage, race, sexuality and family. Social work courses are also offered.
