Margie Bowles has served as an adjunct faculty member at Brookhaven since 2003 and is also an adjunct graduate professor at Texas A&M University-Commerce.
She received a bachelor’s degree in advertising design from the University of North Texas, studied further at the Art Center College of Design and earned her master’s degree in humanities from California State University. She is certified in business French, having earned the Certificat Pratique de Français Commercial et Économique from the Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Paris.
Bowles is founder, president and creative director of 1400 Words, an award-winning marketing communications firm whose sole focus is strategic message development and copywriting. Over the years, her client list has grown to include everything from entrepreneurial start-ups to Fortune 500 companies as well as highly regarded organizations such as the Smithsonian Institution, the National Constitution Center and NASA. She is a past president of the Dallas Society of Visual Communications (DSVC) and the current chair of the DSVC Foundation.
