Beth M. Mendel, M.S., RN, CCRN

Beth Mendel has served as a Brookhaven ADN faculty member since 2009. She holds a Master of Science (M.S.) degree with dual majors in medical-surgical nursing and maternal-child health nursing from Texas Woman's University in Denton. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Ohio State University in Columbus. 

After 26 years in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps Reserve, serving in both Vietnam  and Operation Desert Storm, she retired as a lieutenant colonel. Certified as a Critical Care Nurse for 30 years by the American Association of Critical Care Nurses, Mrs. Mendel has worked in a variety of hospitals, from large to small, in the medical-surgical, emergency and intensive care areas.

She has taught Fundamentals, Pediatric, Medical- Surgical I, and Medical Surgical II clinicals, Nursing Skills Lab I and Nursing Skills Lab II. She has also taught didactic for Pediatric Health Nursing, Skills Lab I and Skills Lab II. A registered nurse (RN), she is certified as a CCRN, a board certification for critical care nurses designated by the American Association of Critical-Care Nurses.
