Diedra Green, an ADN faculty member since 2010, holds a master’s degree in nursing as a forensic clinical nurse specialist from the University of Colorado in Colorado Springs. She also holds a bachelor’s degree in nursing from Texas Woman’s University in Denton.
She worked for six years as a staff RN at Parkland Health and Hospital System in Dallas in its psychiatric emergency room, clinic and inpatient unit, serving as an advocate for patients’ needs, coordinating their care, assessing and evaluating behavior and serving as a liaison with other medical personnel.
She also served as a staff RN for Timberlawn Mental Health Systems in Dallas working with children and adolescents. Previous positions include working as a hospice care RN case manager, as a hospital supervisor and crisis evaluator, as a charge nurse in a health care unit for children with behavior and emotional problems, as a mental health care assistant and as a labor and delivery nurse.
She has taught psychiatric mental health nursing, maternal and newborn nursing, Nursing Skills Lab I and II and medical/surgical clinicals.
