Sheila Gilliam, M.S.N., RN

Sheila Gilliam holds a Master of Science degree in nursing from the University of Texas at Tyler and a Bachelor of Science degree in nursing from Texas Woman’s University, as well as teacher’s certification in health science technology education (HSTE) from the University of North Texas.

She has taught at Brookhaven since 2007 and served as its director of nursing skills for two years. She also taught HSTE in the Birdville and HEB independent school districts. Ms. Gilliam worked as a charge nurse at Harris Methodist HEB Hospital in Springwood, working in adult and adolescent psychiatric nursing. She was a traveling medical/surgical and psychiatric nurse for the states of Washington and Arkansas, a nurse educator for RHD Hospital in Dallas, and a cardiac and trauma nurse for Methodist Medical Center.

She belongs to Sigma Theta Tau and the American Heart Association and is the author of a paper on schizophrenic patients under revision for publication.
