Principal's Welcome

From Timothy A. Isaly

Early College High School enters into its 12th year of educating motivated, hard-working and service-minded students. Our students have dedicated, respectful and loving teachers and professors who tirelessly design and deliver quality lessons. Perhaps, more importantly, our faculty build trusting and supportive relationships with these young people who will soon enter the 21st century workforce as independent and productive citizens.

Amazingly, we continue to have parents who want their children to be educated at the Early College High School (ECHS) on the Brookhaven College campus. Every morning parents drop off their children at our school doorway believing that our academic program that enables students to earn an associate's degree in arts or sciences will make their children's future adult life bright.  This year we enrolled 90 freshmen, bringing our student school population total to 337. Our graduation rate has been 100 percent the past four of five years, dipping to 99 percent in 2014.

Our vision focuses on student learning and achievement. All students will take a curriculum of rigor that includes advanced placement and Brookhaven College courses. Students will meet or score above state and national norms on tests such as the PSAT, SAT and ACT. Our students will graduate in four years ready for admission into college and university programs without remediation.

ECHS parents are a valued and integral component to advance our students' levels of academic achievement. They understand the importance of an early college education; imploring them to complete their homework/projects, attend tutorials regularly and provide an encouraging home environment.
