The Brookhaven College Nursing Program is currently accepting applications from students with a Step 1 score of
27 admission points and higher
ONLY. (GPA + HESI A2 TM + Critical Thinking Exam score + Course points) Please review the following steps and processes for applying to the Brookhaven College Nursing Program.
Admission is based on a complete packet being submitted including signed course substitutions. A mathematical formula is used to complete the applicant’s score. After the application deadline, all applicant scores will be calculated. The applicants with the top scores will be identified. The applicant's final admission score will be determined in two steps.
Nursing student applicants with the top 50 Step 1 scores for the Spring admission and the top 70 Step 1 scores for the Fall admission will be invited for an interview and to complete a professional writing sample.
(negative 10 points to 10 points may be earned for the interview, negative 5 points and 5 points may be earned for the professional writing sample) The professional writing sample will be evaluated on composition, grammar, spelling, content and legibility.
The interview and professional writing sample scores will be added to the Step 1 score (GPA + HESI A2™ points + Critical Thinking + course points) for a
FINAL admission score of (GPA + HESI A2™ points + critical thinking exam points + course points + interview points + professional writing sample points for a
maximum admission score of 70 points).
Brookhaven College students will be accepted in the Brookhaven College/Texas Tech University HSC El Paso Dual Enrollment Program if they enroll in and pass with a “C” or better at least one the Texas Tech HSC El Paso-RN-BSN online courses listed below and the student meets all of the Brookhaven College Nursing School minimum requirements as listed under Step 1 of the admission/selection process.

Submit your packet to the Division Office either in person or by mail. If you are mailing it in, please note that 90 percent of mail-in applications are denied because their packets are incomplete. Applications must be received by the deadline found on the
Admission Schedule and Deadlines page.
