Drop-In Tutoring

Tutoring can supply a key component to your success as a student. All currently enrolled Brookhaven College students have access to free, open labs staffed with certified, trained tutors  throughout the day and early evening.

The following is a list of specialized, high-traffic locations across campus that offer tutoring and learning resources. Click each area to learn more about the facilities and the subjects offered.

The HUB - Bldg. S, Room S245

The HUB offers tutoring in English, Government, History, DMAT and non-STEM math classes. The HUB has more than just a tutoring space. There are laptops and computers, printers and copiers on the Pay-for-Print system and seminar rooms students can reserve for group work.

Biology Resource Center - Bldg. X, Room X2030

Take advantage of tutoring for your science classes. The BRC also has staff that can help you with everything from developing lab reports to test prep for nursing students. For more information, call 972-860-4905.

Biology Resource Center

J-Lab - Bldg. J, Room J122

The J-Lab is our largest open computer lab. It's a great place to write a paper or finish your online homework. Computers have Microsoft Office Suite and internet access, as well as eCampus and eConnect. The lab also has printers and copiers connected to the Pay-for-Print system, and a fax machine for local calls. 

J-Lab has support software packages and listening/speaking carrels for recording and playing back language assignments for students in:

  • English for Speakers of Other Languages
  • Foreign languages


STEM Resource Center - Bldg. K, Room K137

The center provides tutoring and resources for STEM subjects. Students and tutors have access to computers, textbooks and solution manuals along with helpful handouts for academic support in math, science and engineering.
