How do I make an appointment?

You can schedule an appointment one of three ways. You may call us at 972-860-4673, email us at bhcCounseling@dcccd.edu or stop by our office in Bldg. S, Room S136.


Where is the Brookhaven College Counseling Center located?

Who is eligible for services? Is there a cost?

If you are a student currently enrolled (credit or noncredit) at Brookhaven College and at least 18 years of age and older, you are eligible for services at no additional cost.


How many sessions does the Counseling Center offer?

The Counseling Center provides short-term individual sessions. You may participate in up to eight sessions each semester. If it is determined that long-term counseling is needed, your counselor can assist with referrals to agencies within the community.


What types of counseling services does the Counseling Center provide?

The counselors provide individual counseling for a variety of concerns. Visit our home page to see a list of some common student concerns and services we provide.


What can I expect when I come to the Counseling Center?

Do you prescribe medication?

The Counseling Center does not prescribe medication. If you are interested in being evaluated for medication, our case manager can provide you with referrals to community agencies that assist with this service.


Who will see my counseling records?

All counseling records are confidential and separate from any academic record. Your records stay securely at the Counseling Center and are only released with your written consent. Learn more on our Confidentiality page.
