Ceremony begins promptly at 6 p.m.
The guest entrances are located on the northwest and northeast corners of the Comerica Center. Access is available through parking garage E or the front entrances. We are pleased that you will be able to share this special occasion with your graduate. For the safety, comfort and enjoyment of all guests, please carefully review these instructions.
Graduation is to be a respectful event. Family and friends should listen quietly to all student and college speakers and refrain from shouting as names are called. Please be respectful of all graduates and their families. Every family wants to hear the name of their graduate as she or he walks across the stage. To help expedite the end of the ceremony, we ask that you meet your graduate outside of the Comerica Center following the ceremony.
Parking Parking is free for the graduates and all guests. Garage E is available for Commencement Ceremony parking and access to the event center for guests is available from garage E. There is handicap parking on each level of the parking garage. There is limited availability for large vehicles such as pickup trucks and vans. Directions and parking information for Comerica Center.
Family Children may not be left unattended at any time. Children who are guests at the graduation ceremony are the responsibility of their parents. Please keep your children with you throughout the ceremony. We appreciate your attention to these concerns, both for the safety of the children and the enjoyment of all other guests attending this important occasion.
Food No outside food or drink is allowed in the Comerica Center. Food and beverage will be available for purchase in the concessions area for guests. No alcohol will be served.
Seating The arena floor is reserved for graduates and approved college employees only. Wheelchair and disability area seating is available on the main floor of the concourse.
Safety and SecurityAll guests and students will pass through metal detectors and handheld detection wands upon entering the facility. All bags and purses are subject to being searched before entering. You will be asked to return restricted items to your car.
The Comerica Center is a drug and alcohol free facility; there is no smoking on premises.
