Walk for a Cause You Truly Care About

This article appeared in an August 2016 issue of the student newsletter.

There's a new team in town: the DCCCD Street Team. It is made up of exemplary students from across the seven Dallas County Community Colleges. Their goal: to spread the news that college is for everyone.

Serving the Community

The DCCCD Street Team represents the unity and diversity of DCCCD through motivation, positive teamwork and servant leadership. It is made up of a large group of student volunteers who reach out to current and prospective students as well as the Dallas community.

Membership Benefits

As a Street Team member, you will have the opportunity to build leadership skills, network with community leaders and develop your public speaking abilities.

Members also:

  • Acquire public relations experience
  • Interact with DCCCD leaders such as the chancellor, Dr. Joe May
  • Build a professional network
  • Gain personal enrichment
  • Strengthen their career resume

Students selected to serve on the Street Team are given the opportunity to represent DCCCD during community activities, special campus events, official district functions, outreach events, local concerts, radio station remotes, car shows and more.
