Maybe a bit restless?
Sounds like it’s time to go abroad!
Time to travel and explore the world around you. Time to disconnect from daily routine and investigate the unknown. The colleges of DCCCD offer some amazing opportunities to earn college credit out of state and even outside the country.
If you’re enrolled at any of the seven colleges of DCCCD, you can participate in any study abroad opportunity we offer — whether it’s offered by your home college or not.
Also, Texas residents who are currently enrolled in colleges that are members of the North Texas Community College Consortium — for example: UNT, Colin County, Tarrant County, etc. — may enroll in our international courses by paying “in-district” (Dallas County) tuition.
Pretty nice, huh? Visit the study abroad program page to see if your college is an NTCCC member.
Need to earn eight hours of laboratory science credit in biology? Hawaii is the place to do it! And you do not have to be a science major to join in the fun. The Hawaiian Field Studies Program is open to all students! Spaces are limited, however.
Start off the new year right by traveling to the beautiful island of Kauai. Pre-trip classes start Dec. 2, 2017. Travel is Jan. 2-12, 2018.
For more information, contact Professor Mike Huddleston by emailing firstname.lastname@example.org or calling 972-273-3528. To view all study abroad programs offered through North Lake College, visit their Field Studies program page.
Want a perfect place to study Spanish? Go to Spain! Once you're there you can totally immerse yourself in the sights, sounds and aromas of the Mediterranean (while also earning six to eight hours of college credit in Spanish).
Spend your summer under the sun with the Total Immersion Program!
This year’s trip will total five weeks — from July 7 to Aug. 5, 2018 — in historic Alicante, Spain. For more details, attend an upcoming information session at Mountain View College on Nov. 8 (at 2 p.m.) or Dec. 2 (at noon) in room W-181. You can also contact Professor Ulises Rodriguez by emailing UlisesRodriguez@dcccd.edu or calling 214-860-8792.
Scholarships are available (and stackable) for study abroad! You just have to do your research. Examples include the Fund for Education Abroad, the Benjamin A. Gilman International Scholarship and the Richard McCreary International Study-Abroad Endowed Scholarship, to name a few.
