Finish RecycleMania Strong

This article appeared in the March 27, 2018, issue of thstudent newsletter.

Don't forget — the RecycleMania competition winds down this week.

What's RecycleMania, you ask?

Every year, colleges and universities across the United States and Canada participate in the eight-week contest to find out which institutions have the best recycling rate of total waste and which schools generate the least amount of trash and recycling.

This year, six DCCCD schools are participating:

  • Richland College
  • Eastfield College
  • Mountain View College
  • Cedar Valley College
  • North Lake College
  • Brookhaven College

The winning schools in each category get national recognition both on the RecycleMania website and in a national press release. Winning schools also win an award made out of recyclable materials and the right to host that category's traveling trophy for the year.

Check out the current standings to find out where your school stands before the competition ends March 31.
