Fill Out Your Foundation Scholarship Application

This article appeared in the Sept. 24, 2019, issue of the student newsletter.

Yes, we're only a month into the Fall semester, but it's already time to start thinking about scholarships for the Spring. Get a head start and apply today!

The DCCCD Foundation offers more than 400 scholarships yearly, and myScholarships is designed to help you earn as many as possible.

From now until Dec. 1, you can apply for Foundation scholarships. Not sure what to do? We're here to help!

The Application

You might feel a little overwhelmed by such a large number of scholarships, but applying is actually quite easy because you only need to fill out one secure application. Here's how it works:

  • Visit myScholarships on the Foundation website and fill out the online scholarship application. Once your application is complete, you'll be automatically matched to scholarships you're eligible for.
  • Some Foundation scholarships require more information beyond eligibility, such as writing an essay or providing answers to supplemental questions. You'll know which scholarships, though, and you can submit that information directly through the online form.
  • You can check on the status of your application any time you want. Log in to myScholarships and click the Home tab in the upper-left corner. If you have been offered a scholarship, you will see a status update. You'll also get an email letting you know of any offers.

Making Changes

If you want to make changes to your general application after you submit it, contact the Admissions/Registrar's Office at the college you plan to attend this Spring.
