Timely Notifications

 In compliance with the federal Jeanne Clery Disclosure of Campus Security Policy and Campus Crime Statistics Act of 1998 the Brookhaven College Police are giving notice of the following threat(s):


Two cases of aggravated assault were reported to college police on Monday, April 30. The complainant told police that on the evening of Tuesday, April 24, she was threatened by an African-American woman seated in a vehicle as she walked by the car. She stated the suspect asked her why she was walking by the car, pulled out a weapon and threatened to use the weapon on her. The complainant also stated the same suspect had threatened her again on Monday, April 30 at approximately 6 p.m. The complainant reported she was in the P7 parking lot on the North side of the college and turned around to see that the same suspect was in a vehicle and yelled at her about looking at the vehicle before stepping out of the vehicle to point a weapon at her.   

SUSPECT'S DECRIPTION: Suspect was described as an African-American female. The vehicle was described as a beige Nissan Versa, 4-door passenger vehicle. 


    • Be aware of your surroundings.

    • Whenever possible, walk with others.

    • Notify police immediately if you see a vehicle matching this description.

It can be assumed that conditions continue to exist that may pose a threat to members and guests of the community. It is the duty of the institution to warn of possible "dangerous conditions" on or near its campus, and at affiliate organizations off campus; an "affirmative duty" exists to warn persons associated with this college of possible peril at the hands of some third party or parties.
