General Immunizations

We recommend that all prospective students obtain adequate immunization for bacterial meningitis, diphtheria, measles (also known as rubeola), rubella, mumps, tetanus and poliomyelitis. See the Department of Health and Human Services' Adult Immunization Schedule.

Please note: All students under the age of 22 attending classes at Texas institutions of higher education must present proof of immunization for bacterial meningitis, or present appropriate exemption.

Other Immunizations

Health-related programs require specific immunizations from students prior to admission. These immunization requirements are outlined in student orientation for those programs. The following immunizations are available to health occupation students for a fee.
  • Hepatitis B
  • Tdap
  • Twinrix - Hep A/B
TB screenings are available to all students free of charge.
