Description: Heart House is a nonprofit after school program that serves refugee and immigrant students in the Vickery Meadow area of Dallas. This is accomplished through the H3 program, which stands for Head (academic support), Heart (social-emotional learning) and Hands (service learning). Heart House staff believes strongly in supporting the whole child, rather than just focusing on one area. This way, students who have faced trauma can learn important skills that will allow them to cope and function in today's world.
